Readin'
'Ritin' 'Rithmetic,
a 172-page book of memories of former students, has over 215 photographs and
graphics of most of the 65 one-room schools that dotted
the countryside in California's northern San Luis Obispo County and southern
Monterey County.
The book is available Thursday through Sunday from
1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Pioneer Museum, south of the
fairgrounds on Riverside Avenue, in Paso Robles,
California, or by mail.

Pioneer Museum has copies of the 32-page
booklets, The
Pioneer Pages,
which were published from
1998 through 2002. They are available for $5 each (plus postage and
handling). Each issue contains a variety
of articles about Paso Robles area history, including agriculture,
blacksmiths, bridges, churches, charcoal
